Pat testing hse

Portable appliance testing has become necessary due to British legislation from a number of regulations. The Health and Safety at work act, The Electricity at Work regs and PUWER.

It is seen that the employer is responsible for providing a safe working environment for his employees and this includes the regular inspection of portable electrical appliances. A PAT test will include a visual inspection of the appliance and connecting lead, a electrical test which will analyse the resistances of the contacts. The piece of equipment will be logged into a report and a pass sticker will be attached to the piece of equipment.
