Electrical safety testing

Electrical safety testing also known as PAT testing is a mandatory requirement for employers in the UK. Any organisation where employees use portable appliances i.e. anything that plugs into an electrical socket will require PAT testing. For medium to large organisations it is possible to train an internal employee to carry out PAT testing. A competent person can be trained in a short time to complete all portable appliance test requirements. There is an initial investment required for training and equipment (The pat testing machine, labels etc.) The other option is to have a contractor carry out the work. There are a number of firms that operate throughout the UK and offer a complete electrical safety testing service.
